Love Me Under The Palm Trees: A California Dream Photoshoot

When Josh and Levi contacted us about their Palm Springs elopement, the answer was a resounding hell yeah! We had previously met this lovely duo when we took some family portraits for their new home together. So we were more than excited at the opportunity to celebrate them once again.

With Palm Springs just a short plane ride away from our home base in Denver, we booked the tickets and headed off to meet them for the photoshoot of their dreams. The couple wanted to keep their vows private and instead asked that we meet them near the mountainside where a classic vintage car would arrive to deliver the full Palm Springs fantasy. We joined the newlyweds and got to snapping!

In October, there was a small breeze, and a strong presence of the sun around 11AM. Luckily, we were graced with some clouds that made the overall experience perfect for a photoshoot.

After an hour, we headed over to their poolside stay. We cut some cake, popped the champagne, and took advantage of the new scenery for more photos. We couldn’t miss out on the palm trees and cacti while at a California elopement.

Afterwards, we ate cake and concluded our day with these two lovebirds. We had to catch a flight home and they had to hit the gay bars!

We had so much fun and can’t wait to come back again. If you’re looking for a queer photography and video duo to capture your Palm Springs elopement, we’re just an email away!

A weekend in the desert

The city of Palm Springs is only 94 square miles, so it’s easy to get around or quickly get out of town. That’s why we would recommend a rental car so you can take full advantage of all the area has to offer without racking up taxi bills.

For our 3 day stay, we chose to stay in the nearby town of Palm Dessert Springs. The smaller town was located conveniently between the city and Joshua Tree National Park, making it an ideal spot for our quick getaway!

Coffee and local eats were just a quick drive from our stay, with affordable options you might not get in the city. Every place we went to had awesome food and quick, friendly service. And as a queer couple, we never felt unsafe or unwelcome.

Espresso Self- seasonal brews with fresh muffins from the local bakery; a morning requirement everyday of our stay

Baja Springs- convenience store style restaurants are our favorite, 5 stars!

Would highly recommend coming out here in the Summer/Fall and taking advantage of the heat during the day with cooler nights. We took advantage of the hot tub, but it was a bit too cold to fully enjoy the cowboy pool. However, a few quick dips were much needed, because you can really get a tan and work up a sweat just standing out of the shade! Bring that sunscreen and bug spray.

Joshua Tree was a must for us first timers and we’re so glad we made the time! In comparison to the winding roads of the Rockies, this trip was smooth sailing as we cruised through the park hopping out to sight see. It was a lovely afternoon spent in nature! We watched the sunset and grabbed pizza on the way home. A big trip highlight!

We’re so grateful that our couples value our art so much, that they want to take us everywhere around the world. Thanks once again to Josh and Levi who invited us into their intimate celebration!

Jas K Productions is passport ready and certified airport experts. We can’t wait for our next destination wedding to keep telling unique, healing love stories.
